3. Project 1 | Website Analysis

The objective of this assignment is to develop a comprehensive proposal for the redesign of an existing website. The proposal is supposed to demonstrate my ability to critically evaluate a website’s design and functionality, and to propose design solutions that enhance user experience, aesthetics, and performance.

You are required to select an existing website which you feel has several design and UX issue and prepare a detailed proposal for its redesign. We are to submit this in either Canva or Google Slides Form.

The link to the Canva Slides is Here.

4. Reflection

Experience:

Originally, I was doing the analysis in the blogger form until I reread the submission details again and again and again to make sure I wasn't wrong that I realised that I was supposed to do it in slides form. As I had the information ready already, it was slightly easy but to put it in a way that is good looking in the canva slides was very very difficult.

Observation:

I found that while I could see that there were problems about the design of the page itself, that I couldn't completely put it into words completely. I found that while I could identify what was wrong with the shapes, layout, typography, and more, it was really difficult to list down the exact reason before actually getting to the point. I had to have the assistance of a friend to help me stop going on and on with my words when I asked them to check.

Findings:

This project allowed me to realise the potential flaws in the websure and ways that could possibly fix them while also allowing me to understand the littler parts of the user's experience that make people think apps are easier to use. Websites that are poorly built often miss the little parts and it gave me a lot of information on what one should do in future design in apps.
